Jubin in inspired by peranakan tiles! The history of peranakan tiles started in the mid 1800s when british colonizers brought majolica tiles to our shores. The wealthy peranakan (descendents of chinese settlers + local malay) used them throughout their homes and demand soared. This eventually changed the face of the tiles to chinese mythology and folklore, intertwined with malaya flora and fauna, which results in the vibrant colours and motifs we see today. These tiles are all over the old town of my old stomping grounds. As a kid, I enjoyed exploring and studying the intricacies of them. I still do! Who knew one day it would inspire my knitwear designs?

This boxy and oversized top-down tee and jumper is knitted in the round and features a seamless construction and stranded yoke. It comes in ten adult sizes with customization options for body length, sleeve length, and bust shaping. You can choose to make it as a tee or as a jumper.

Model is wearing size 3 with a 18.5cm/7.3” ease on chest, cropped body and shorter sleeve option.
